27 inch monitors are the way to go these days. They have become affordable enough that they won’t put a heavy dent in your pocket. Not just that, they have also become supremely slimmer and amazingly beautiful easily making them the center of attraction in your living space.

There are many 27 inch monitors in the market that compete quite well with the price range of ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD. There is the ASUS MX279H and the HP Pavilion 27xw that both look beautiful and have garnered huge praise from their customers.

So what makes ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD so special? That is what we will find out in this ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD review. This monitor is the latest in the market by ViewSonic and with it we can see that ViewSonic has finally moved itself from mundane looks to more classy looks.

ViewSonic is one of the most respectable brands in the market. Although you can find slightly cheaper 27 inch monitors than ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD, there is a reason why one would prefer this monitor. Read on this ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD review to find out.

Design and Features

This monitor is a beauty to behold. It has a very slim profile and slimmer still bezel making it not only an eye candy but also ideal for multi monitor setup. Slim bezel is an essential requirement when you want to have extended display with several monitors. A slimmer bezel ensures that there is a pleasant continuity between two monitors.

Although this monitor lacks VESA mounts so you cannot hook it up on dedicated stands, it can still serve as a great monitor for dual or triple monitor setup.

While many brands have chosen circular stands to be their signature stands, ViewSonic has chosen triangular stands as a symbol of their monitors. Needless to say, it looks awesome. The side profile of the monitor is razor thin. It is a shame that it does not have VESA mounts as mounting this monitor on the wall would have been perfect.

This monitor offers a Super IPS panel – a class of IPS panels that are new in the market and also affordable. They have great color quality and viewing angles. The only drawback that is common with all IPS monitors is the IPS glow which can hamper the contrast ratio. The IPS glow around the edges can mostly be noticed during darker scenes. This issue unfortunately is present in even monitors that thrice as expensive as this.

Other than that, this monitor has Full HD resolution. We generally suggest going for larger resolution when choosing a 27 inch monitor. However, WQHD or UHD monitors are very expensive especially on 27 inch display. Therefore, FHD is quite justified for this price range. Although you will have the same real estate to work on as FHD 24 inch monitors, the larger screen will be more comfortable to work on.

This monitor also comes with dual integrated stereo speakers. Like speakers on any monitors, the speakers on this monitor are also lacking. You can still use them for normal work or for emergency, you cannot enjoy your time with them. They sound similar to the speakers on laptops, but less powerful.

This monitor has features such as Flicker-Free technology and blue light reduction technology that help put less stress on the eyes and can enable you to sit for longer period of time – although it is always advised to take breaks in between.

Why should you choose this monitor over other? ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD has one of the best warranty coverage. ViewSonic is known for their amazing support. Where most monitors come with 1 year warranty, this monitor comes with 3 years of warranty. This can give you a slight piece of mind and can even tell you about the quality of these monitors.

ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD Review 4

There is ample connectivity options on this monitor. This monitor comes with HDMI, Display Port and a VGA port so interfacing it with older and new generation devices will not be an issue at all.

Most 27 inch monitors at this price range miss out DisplayPort. This monitor does not. If you are looking for an affordable 27 inch monitor that has a great variety of ports, then this is the monitor for you.

As mentioned earlier in this ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD review, this is not the cheapest 27 inch monitor in the market but it has an edge over other with its amazing warranty and connectivity options. For example, HP Pavilion 27xw, is an IPS panel monitor that costs less than ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD but does not have a DisplayPort and offers only 1 year warranty.

It is; however, less expensive than the famous ASUS MX279H monitors that has similar specs.

The Cons

The monitor lacks VESA mounts and has a slower response time than the average IPS panels. Let me tell you though that you will have to be very picky to consider these as serious drawbacks.

The response time, for example, is only marginally worse than the average IPS panels these days. In most cases you won’t even see the difference. As for the VESA mounts, well most of the monitors with slim profiles lack VESA mounts anyways.

ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD Review Conclusion

In the budget 27 inch range this monitor may as well become the reigning king in the coming few months. This ViewSonic VX2776-SMHD review proves that this monitor has all the bells and whistles to dominate the market in this price and size category.

However, much cannot be said since this monitor is still untested by the majority. It is still very new in the market. With that said, it carries the awesome ViewSonic built quality and comes with the promise of their great customer support. It is next to impossible that this monitor would fail in public eyes.
