ASUS VC279H Slim Bezel Black 27″
The ASUS VC279H is the type of monitor that everyone can grow to love. It does not bring anything that will make you spin in circles, but it does deliver everything you need in a monitor on a daily basis at a nice and affordable price. With full HD 1080p capabilities and a 27 inch screen the basics are well covered when it comes to size and clarity.
They quickly back that up with the speed of a 5 millisecond response time and the variety of color that comes with a 80 million to 1 contrast ratio. None of these are especially spectacular but as a package priced under $250 dollars you can’t do too much better in any area. The eye care features make for a great added bonus as another aspect of this screen thats easy on the eyes. Jokes aside this is a comprehensive package that will do nicely for gamers or casual computer users as a great stopping point until your ready to splurge on a next generation monitor.
Thinnest Bezel Monitor Review
We have selected among the best ones out there. Although this is not a top 10 list, it lists 10 great monitors in the market. Every monitor is unique in its own way. Some have great features, others have great price point.
It is the aim of the list to provide you with a variety of selection to choose from.
However, other than just the list, we also want to give you a guide for the monitor.
1. Dell Ultrasharp U2417HJ – 24″ – Ultimate Frameless Monitor
Dell Ultrasharp U2417HJ takes the lead in this list of the frameless monitor. It is one of the newest monitors to have hit the market and boy does it pack some hardware.
Dell is one of the leading brands in slim bezel displays. Not only are their monitor reasonably priced, but their high-end screens, like this one, are loaded with technology.
This 24-inch monitor harbors Wireless Charging Stand for the smartphones with Qi or PMA capability; you can charge without having to deal with cables.
Thanks to its superior IPS panel, not only does it cover a wide color gamut, but it also has wide viewing angles. The stand is fully adjustable meaning it can pivot, swivel, rotate and change elevation.
2. ASUS MX27AQ – 27″ – Thinnest Bezel Monitor (0.8mm Bezel)
ASUS MX27AQ is the flagship model of the famous ASUS Designo MX series. This is one of the most elegant thin bezel monitors. Currently, it is the thinnest bezel monitor in the market.
ASUS calls this frameless display “a work of art.” This particular monitor features 2560×1440 resolution on a 27 inch AH-IPS Panel. Other than its beautiful looks, one of the most attractive features is the amount of ports it offers.
Guess how small the bezel on this screen is? 0.8 mm! This is practically invisible. But I do agree that its price would not be feasible for a majority of the customers for a multi-monitor display.
Unfortunately, for this price, you would at least expect a refresh rate of 144 Hz. That is not the case. 144 Hz is currently maintained well on TN panels, not on IPS.
Due to its 100% sRGB coverage, this monitor can perform in professional works such as graphics designing or photography.
3. LG Electronics 24MP88HV-S – Professional Grade Display at Affordable Price Tag
It doesn’t have many customers yet compared to the rest of the monitors listed above, but it has all the right ingredients to make it to the top of the rankings.
LG has made a gorgeous premium frameless monitor that not only looks good to eyes but is loaded with features to entertain and satisfy all sorts of people.
On paper, this monitor looks awesome and falls in an affordable price category.
For starters, the bezel on the screen is only 2.5 mm. This is not the thinnest in the market, for the price, it is one of the thinnest in the market.
Other than that, this monitor is loaded with user-friendly features like Split 2.0, Black Stabilizer and Reader Mode for enhancing your experience.
Furthermore, the 99% sRGB coverage makes it suitable for design work.
4. ViewSonic VX2376-SMHD – Budget Frameless Monitor
If you are looking for an affordable thin bezel monitor that has all the necessary features for a quality experience, then this is the monitor for you.
With the price tag that it has, this could well be your choice for the monitor you get for your multiple monitor setup. You can easily afford two or three of these and still have money in your pocket for something else.
This is standard budget 23″ FHD monitor that is based on an IPS panel and a frameless design. One of the highly appreciated features of this monitor is the connectivity it offers.
You should have no issues interfacing with almost any device with this budget monitor.
5. Dell Gaming S2716DG – 27″ – Thin Bezel Monitor for Gamers
A bit pricey, sure, but for all the right reasons. With 2560×1440 resolution, Nvidia G-Sync technology, and fully adjustable stand, this monitor has all the bells and whistles to keep the gamer in you entertained.
However, that is just scratching the surface; this monitor also boasts a refresh rate of 144 Hz for a jitter free graphics experience. Thanks to the TN panel, this monitor has one of the fastest response times of 1 ms.
TrustedReviews has given this monitor a solid 8/10, praising its image quality by saying that it delivers “Constant Solid Image Quality.”
There is one drawback. Not only is this an expensive monitor, but using it to its full potential would require you to have a good PC with a great graphics card. Not all graphics card support the G-Sync functionality.
6. AOC i2777fq – 27″ – Affordable 27″ Thin Bezle Monitor (VESA Holes)
A wall mountable affordable 27-inch bezel-less monitor is the idea behind this screen. It has a minimalist design which looks quite stunning.
Surprisingly for an affordable monitor, this monitor offers a great range of connectivity options.
Being a wall mountable monitor, you can hook two or three of these monitors for an awesome multiple monitor display. You can get three of these at almost the same price range as the Dell Gaming Monitor listed above.
There is very little negative that can be said about this monitor. This can be proven by the flawless reviews that it has received from about a 1,000 customers.
7. ASUS VC239H – 23″ – Affordable Frameless Monitor
An IPS monitor with 5 ms response time, a plethora of connectivity options and VESA mount capability at this price is a complete steal.
Although this is new in the market, this monitor has all the potential to become the next most favorite monitors for multiple monitor display setup.
Cnet.com’s Craig Simms has this to say about this monitor:
if you have basic needs, this may see you through — just be aware of the limited defective pixel policy.
This monitor is designed for gamers. Therefore, it has a gaming mode that can enable crosshair and timer on the screen.
Unfortunately, this monitor is not built for use in professional environments like designing and photography where color perfection is a necessity.
8. Acer R240HY bidx - 24" - Ultrabudget Monitor
Acer has the habit of taking the most trending features in the market and then fitting it in a package that is the cheapest possible. By cheap, I do not mean in quality, but regarding the price tag. It is also safe to say this is the most affordable thin bezel monitor in the list.
By cheap, I do not mean in quality, but regarding the price tag. It is also safe to say this is the most affordable thin bezel monitor in the list.
Acer R240HY bidx is an IPS monitor with narrow bezel and an elegant looking overall design. For an IPS panel, this monitor has the fastest response time in the list: 4 ms.
But by far the most outstanding aspect of this monitor is its price. It is less than $150 (at the time of writing this review), yet has all the features that even the more expensive models in this list lack.
9. AOC I2481FXH - 24" - Elegant Affordable 24 inch Monitor
AOC I2481FXH is truly a beauty to behold. Not only does it have a slim bezel, but it also has one of the most uniquely crafted stands.
This monitor utilizes superior AH-IPS panel with flicker free technology. With a bezel of only 2mm and thickness of 7.5 mm, this monitor is one the slimmest monitors in the market.
One of the biggest plus points for this display is the looks. This monitor stands true to the fact the budget monitors do not have to be ugly anymore.
Furthermore, this monitor has adequate connectivity options. The dual HDMI connectivity ports should give you ample option to interface the monitor with different devices.
10. HP Pavilion 25xw - 25" - All Rounder Frameless Monitor
If there ever was a manifestation of the phrase: I came, I saw, I conquered, it is this monitor.
HP Pavilion 25xw has been in the market since not so long but has surprisingly broken the market. Out of a whopping 1,223 customer reviews, this monitor has managed to maintain a 4.5 star average on Amazon (at the time of writing this review).
This monitor combines style and functionality with affordability. When was the last time you ever heard all these aspects mentioned together?

11. Dell UltraSharp U2515Hx
This frameless monitor sits between a professional monitor and a multimedia monitor. Meaning, it can work for both high-end work and also for entertainment.
This monitor features a 25" screen with a high-end IPS panel. The IPS panel on this display has an exception screen that promises 99% coverage of sRGB coverage.
Furthermore, it has a resolution of 2560x1440. This much screen real estate can really enhance your work and gaming experience.
Simple PC Monitor Buying Guide
In the simplest of the case, you need to consider three key points: Cost, Ports, and Size. These options are always related. For example, cost increases with size.
Thin Bezel Monitor, VESA Mounts, and Stands
Many are happy just to have their nearly frameless monitors side by side on their native stands.
However, there are a few who want more e.g. more adjustability, better organization and just down right better overall design look.
So this is where th bezel less monitor with VESA mounting holes outshine any other category of the displays.
You can have them hooked up to dedicated stands that have similar VESA mounts.
The VESA mount above, VIVO Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand, for example (which also happens to be the best seller on Amazon.com) has both 75 and 100 mm mounting holes.
You can hook up two monitors with up to 27-inch displays.
Now this is a desk mount stand which means that you can just position and hook it at the back of your work table.
It does not have a stand. There are many other mounts, some have stands, some don't. Some have two; some have three, and some have holes for many monitors.
EZM Triple Monitor Mount Stand Free is a free standing mount, which supports up to 3 x 24-inch displays.
You can find both Clamp Mounts and Free Standing Mounts for all kinds of screen sizes.
The Desk Mount Stands give you more space and looks cleaner, but the Free Standing Mounts are more mobile and less limited in functionality.
One thing is clear, though, these stands give you a lot more organized display.
Now remember, getting a stand means added cost. So if you are out in the market looking for a budget setup, then getting dedicated mounts may not be the best option for you.
Some of these stands can cost as much as an average budget monitor. But, this is also only a one time purchase. You may change the screens whenever you like in the future; the stand will remain with you forever.
Bezel-Less Monitors are The Current Trend
It seems that there is no end to the desires of a gamer. A single large screened gaming monitor was considered to be quite satisfactory a few years ago.
Then came the multiple monitor displays. Although this was still an idea that was confined to gaming elites, it opened up a whole new horizon for the gaming industry to explore.
Back then multiple monitor display setups were admittedly ugly. With large bezels in between, the overall display wasn't something that everybody would find to their taste.
Couple that with the fact the hardware back then wasn't good enough to support multiple monitors at FHD resolution and high quality, there just wasn't a good trend for thin bezel monitors.
These days, almost all of the mid - high-end gaming graphic cards can support multiple monitors at FHD resolution. They would lag only if the resolution is taken to higher than FHD resolution.
Therefore, a multiple monitor setup has become quite feasible for frameless monitor. Furthermore, now with the almost frameless monitors, the physical component of the display itself has improved. These thin bezel monitors solve that one lingering issue that everyone hated: the large gaps in between two screens.
However, as we have seen, and as stated earlier there is no end to gamers' desires. It seems as if a normal FHD 24-inch triple monitor setup is not enough.
The trend has now changed to have an installation of monitors with WQHD resolution and a high refresh rate.
Currently, the high-end trend of multiple monitors is to combine triple 34-inch ultrawide gaming monitors with curved screens for a truly mind-boggling experience. Only time will tell where the gaming industry takes us next.
How to Setup Multiple Monitor Display?
The way you set up multiple monitor display depends upon the which graphic card you have. First of all, you need to make sure that your graphic card and the game that you play can support the number of display you want to setup.
As a general rule, if you have at least a mid-tier graphic card, then you would at least have three outputs. This way you can setup up a triple monitor display quickly.
Your graphic card could either have multiple HDMIs or a combination of DVI, HDMI, and DisplayPort.
If this is the case, then you are ready to go. In case if your graphic card does not have three ports and has two, you can get a splitter. Unfortunately, splitters are not designed to support gaming.
AMD cards are the easier to setup for triple monitor display. They have a dedicated Eyefinity technology that is designed for multiple monitors. The NVIDIA counterpart to the Eyefinity is the NVIDIA Surround.
Many people prefer their monitors for multiple monitor setup to have a very narrow bezel. Moreover, they also prefer their monitors to have VESA wall mounts so that they can install their monitors on separate stands.
Response Time and Gaming - Are IPS Monitors Suitable for Gaming?
This is one of the questions that Gamers often ask before choosing the IPS monitors.
IPS panels have a slow response time. The best that you can get is 5ms, and generally, you would find IPS monitor with 5ms-8ms response time.
This is entirely reasonable. Many have no issue with this as the IPS panel does have superior color quality.
The worst of the TN panels nowadays; on the other hand, have 2 ms response time. The best ones, featured in the high-end gaming monitors, have less than 1ms response time.
IPS panels do have wider viewing angles; however, I do not think that this feature is of any use to a gamer.
Gamers usually sit directly in front of the screen. Therefore, higher viewing angles would mean little to them. The lower the response time, the lower is the ghosting effect or artifacts of that you see trailing behind an object in an intense video.
However, the difference between a 5ms response time and 1 ms so little that many wouldn't even see a difference.
What in the World is G-Sync?
Although you can go into all sorts of technical details, the simple fact of the matter is that G-Sync is a proprietary solution by NVIDIA to curtail the screen tearing and ghosting significantly.
It is a display synchronization method developed by NVIDIA.
V-Sync Vs G-Sync?
V-sync solved the screen tearing effect whenever the frame rate would go below the 60 Hz of the screen, However, to compensate for the screen tearing, V-Sync had the issue of screen stutter.
So with V-Sync, your display FPS would be locked at 60 Hz; however, should it dip below, it would cause a screen stutter. Why? To understand this, you need to be clear on what a screen tear and a screen stutter are.
- A screen tear occurs when the v-sync is disabled, which implies that the graphics on the screen contain part of the last frame and part of the current frame, this is in typical cases. In the worst case, the screen tearing would be so significant that the graphics would just cease to exist.
- A screen stutter occurs with the V-Sync on. Say your screen has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, should the FPS fall below 60 FPS, the system would compensate by taking a repeat frame for that single frame to load. So for example, if it were to drop to 59 FPS, it would take two frames to load up the one frame, thus stopping the motion for that one extra frame, which causes the screen to stutter.
- G-Sync, on the other hand, saves the day by improving on the drawbacks of the V-Sync. It eliminates the screen stutter and tearing issues both at the same time. Your refresh rate and frame rates match in perfect harmony. How does NVIDIA accomplish this? As Tom Petersen from NVIDIA puts it, "it's still one of our secret sauces." So do not overthink how the technology works. Just enjoy what it delivers.
Is there an AMD counterpart?
For long NVIDIA enjoyed its unique space with the G-Sync; however, AMD has recently released its native technology to counter NVIDIA's G-Sync. They are calling it the 'Free-Sync.'
Free-Sync promises to solve the screen tearing and stuttering issues like the G-Sync.It does not require any additional hardware, and it is also an open standard thus the name 'Free-Sync.'
The real debate is: can AMD's Free-Sync handle the smooth transition with FPS dipping lower than say 40 or 30 FPS?
How smooth would it be then? How would it compensate as it does not rely on any dedicated hardware?
NVIDIA's Tom Petersen argues that their superior G-Sync hardware-run technology gives them better control of managing the screen tearing and stuttering should the FPS fall below that low-end zone.
