Rating:

AOC has emerged from the work shed with a sharp high tech monitor guaranteed to make your graphics card proud. This is a true next generation monitor with all the high level specs and utility that you would expect. Complete with a wide variety of feature along with wall mounting capabilities and a adjustable base this monitor checks about every box that someone looking for great visuals needs.

Priced at around nine hundred dollars (price will vary each time that depends on seller) it does cost a pretty penny but that is also on the lower end for top tier monitors.

Design and Features

At 35 inches this monitor is large enough to double as a TV and vastly outpaces the majority of televisions at its size when it comes to visibility. The maximum resolution of 3440 by 1440 allows for dramatic visuals with widescreen Quad HD. This essentially gives you four times the resolution of standard HD allowing for ultra crisp visuals. Combined with the 21 by 9 aspect ratio you shouldn’t have many issues seeing detail no matter how small the object of your attention. This monitor also sports a curved style screen modeled after the way we actually see.

The curvature makes it easier for our eyes to deal with their limited field of view. This mirroring of the eyes abilities helps to drastically decrease the normal eye fatigue that comes from staring at a monitor.

A major part of this monitor comes in its G Sync compatibility. G Sync allows for your monitor to sync up with your Nvidia graphics card to provide a synergistic graphics experience. G Sync works to reduce screen tearing and minimize stuttering to provide you with the smoothest imaging that your graphics card can attain. Sadly with this monitor G Sync can be a bit of a double edged sword. While often times it will work as great as you expect you also might run into a situation where flickering issues can occur.

There is not much more painful than having to turn down your graphics setting because what looked great now is hounded my severe flickering. Back to the positive this monitor feature AOC’s patented shadow control feature which is awesome for gaming where visibility is crucial. Shadow control allows you to adjust the contrast for dark areas without altering the rest of the screen. With three levels of adjustment all worries about missing that hard to see loot should disappear. The AG352UCG also features an adjustable stand. This allows you to set the monitor at the appropriate height along with setting the angle so you can achieve maximum visibility from no matter where you are seated.

The MVA(Multidomain Vertical Alignment) monitor is typically the middle of the road for LCD monitors but they generally have a 5-8 millisecond response time. This monitor however has a 4 millisecond response time putting it a step ahead of many of its MVA competitors. The high speed continues with the 100 mhz display minimizing screen issues. With a massive contrast ratio of 20,000,000 to 1 we have an amazing range of contrast allowing for a monitor that is capable of producing over 16.7 million colors.

Extra Features

Beyond all of the high level visuals and graphics this monitor can achieve it also packs a nice collection of special features. You will not have to worry about purchasing extra speakers as this monitor has two stereo speakers built in. These speakers include a line in for your headphones which is pretty nice. Since there is nothing worse than not being able to use your headphones because the jack is too far away at the back of your rig. With the amount of crazy peripherals there are on the market today this monitor helps lighted the load with some extra connectivity.

The AG352UCG features two USB 3.0 ports for that ten times faster that 2.0 speed. A HDMI connection is also included because you already have one gorgeous monitor so why not connect it to more.

We also have a VGA display port is also included for any other monitor from the stone ages you might want to connect. Whatever extras you might have it’s nice to see a monitor that has your back.

Finally the most important part of any purchase is the price and high quality doesn’t come cheap. The AG352UCG monitor will run you right around nine hundred bucks (price will vary each time that depends on seller) which might break your pocket book. However the value is all there, this is a high quality monitor with only a few issues so the price is actually quite reasonable considering this model can easily double as your TV or whatever other electronic screens you might need.

AOC Agon AG352UCG Conclusion

This is not your grandpa’s monitor, we are witnesses to a new breed of visibility. The graphical capabilities of this monitor are pretty absurd. Along with that the speakers and connectivity add a whole different degree to what we expect from our monitors.

I could gush about the super high resolution, amazing amount of colors, and overall appeal of this monitor for days but it does have its own share of issues. At the price you would hope to avoid any flickering issues but they can spring up on the G Sync.

Also no matter what you aren’t getting IPS level colors, but overall this is a great value monitor that could only disappoint the highest tier of videophiles.
